Ervin Cohen & Jessup Selects Albert Valencia to Co-Chair its Real Estate Practice
Ervin Cohen & Jessup today announced that Albert Valencia has been selected to Co-Chair its Real Estate Practice Group alongside Joan Velazquez.

Named one of Los Angeles’ Most Influential Minority Lawyers by the Los Angeles Business Journal in 2019 and 2020, Al’s clients include developers, operators, landlords and private equity investors which he represents in a broad range of real estate transactions, including purchase and sale, joint ventures and syndications, construction, commercial leasing, financing (including obtaining CMBS loans, mezzanine debt and preferred equity), loan modifications, workouts and restructurings.

Al's legal career began in the real estate departments of the Am Law 100 law firms Mayer Brown LLP and Proskauer Rose LLP. Prior to practicing law, he was a business consultant for the global consulting firms of Arthur Andersen LLP and Deloitte Consulting LLP, where he provided business process reengineering and systems consulting services for Fortune 500 companies in the manufacturing, utilities and entertainment industries, and later played an integral part of forming and operating two startup companies.
Al is active in the community, served on the Board of Governors for the Asian Pacific American Bar Association, was recognized by Public Counsel with the 2013 Pro Bono of the Year award for his work in organizing and forming a limited equity housing cooperative as a member of the Tierra Urbana Real Estate Team, and received the Proskauer Golden Gavel award in 2010 for his outstanding pro bono work.
