Overview

Isabelle J. Cho is an associate at Ervin Cohen & Jessup LLP, where she focuses on bankruptcy, receivership, and creditors’ rights. She represents financial institutions, businesses, and trustees in complex insolvency matters, including Chapter 7 and Chapter 11 proceedings, creditor negotiations, and enforcement of judgments.

Before joining ECJ, Isabelle gained experience as a law clerk at a bankruptcy firm, where she prepared a wide range of legal documents, conducted client interviews, and assisted a pro bono client with a Chapter 7 petition. During this time, she also published two articles in the Commercial Finance Newsletter on Westlaw and the Business Law E-Bulletin of the California Lawyers Association, showcasing her insight into commercial finance and business law.

While earning her J.D. at UCLA School of Law, Isabelle provided legal advocacy for families navigating complex regulatory frameworks, drafting filings with the California Department of Education and local agencies. She also worked as a pro bono real estate transactional law clerk, where she contributed to the development and amendment of internal legal documents, including those related to executive compensation, performance reviews, and lease agreements.

Isabelle’s commitment to legal scholarship and advocacy extends to her undergraduate years at UCLA, where she contributed to autism research as a research assistant at the UCLA Center for Autism Research. Fluent in Korean, she played a key role in making research accessible through translating materials and providing interpretation at the annual community conference.
