Pooja Nair Featured on NutraCast's Podcast: Industry Impact of 'Made In USA' Rule

Pooja S. Nair, Partner and Chair of ECJ’s Food, Beverage and Hospitality Department, was featured on the NutraCast podcast on the Federal Trade Commission's proposed "Made in USA" rule and its impact on the nutrition industry. 

Pooja shares her insights on the FTC’s proposed rule and its implications on food and beverage clients, including those in the natural products and dietary supplements industries.  According to Pooja, the proposed rule "makes it an unfair or deceptive act to make an unqualified claim that a product is made in the USA, made in America or any variation that means the same thing." Final assembly, all significant processing and all or virtually all ingredients of the product must be made or sourced in the United States to qualify for "Made In USA" claims. 

The FTC is accepting comments on the proposed rule through Monday, September 14th.
