Pooja Nair, Partner of ECJ’s Food, Beverage and Hospitality Department was quoted in a September 2022 Law360 article titled, "Calif. Fast Food Worker Law Could Affect Other States, Jobs ”

"The ultimate proposals that the Fast Food Council comes up with, I can definitely see that those might have an impact on other states," said Pooja Nair.

The article emphasizes on a new California law enabling a council of fast food workers, franchisors, franchisees, advocates and state government representatives to determine an industry minimum wage and other conditions could have an impact in other states and industries.

They can raise the hourly minimum wage for fast food workers to as much as $22 in 2023, higher than the statewide floor of $14 to $15, and make additional increases after that. Other than minimum wage, they can also address issues including working hours and health and safety conditions.
